Conversations in Greek and English
Discuss questions in the language you feel comfortable using, clarify unfamiliar terms, and prepare for conversations with providers.
Your language. Your traditions. Your voice.
Finding support should include a conversation about what makes your loved one feel understood. Hellenic Care Initiative (HCI) brings Greek language and cultural understanding into AGAPE’s free guidance for Greek-American families.

HELLENIC CARE INITIATIVE
Care Inspired by Heritage.
HCI grew from a need we have seen through nearly 20 years in home care: families need guidance that understands both the care process and their cultural needs. We help those needs be heard as families explore options and choose providers.
Discuss questions in the language you feel comfortable using, clarify unfamiliar terms, and prepare for conversations with providers.
Identify the language, meals, routines, family relationships, and traditions your loved one wants considered in conversations about support.
Ask practical questions about cultural understanding and explore Greek-speaking caregiver availability with providers, where available.
Explore relevant community resources and, with your permission, introductions to professionals or providers who may be able to help.
A familiar language, a favorite meal, a holiday, or a connection to church can matter deeply. Preferences differ from person to person, so we ask what matters to your family. Greek Orthodox traditions are part of the conversation when they are important to the individual. We also help agencies learn how to respond thoughtfully to Greek-American families through AGAPE’s agency consulting.
Agency Consulting
We welcome conversations with Greek Orthodox parishes, community organizations, professionals, and providers interested in educational presentations, community outreach, and culturally appropriate support. Contact AGAPE to discuss an idea or a possible collaboration.
PAREA is a proposed program to bring companionship and community connection to older Greek adults through future collaboration with Greek Orthodox churches. Visits are not yet being offered, and church collaboration is not confirmed.
Volunteer screening and preparation, participant consent, visit coordination, and concern-handling procedures are still being developed. You can contact AGAPE to express interest in the future program.
